Colley plays in Gambia draw; heavy loss for Jankto in London

There were two Sampdoria players in action during Friday’s international games.

Back wearing his national colours, Omar Colley helped Gambia to play out a 1-1 draw away against Algeria in Group D of the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers. The result in Blida won’t change Gambia’s chances of making it to Egypt this summer but it does lift them off the bottom of the group and above Togo.

It was not such good news for the Czech Republic and Jakub Jankto, who suffered a 5-0 thrashing against England at Wembley Stadium in Group A of the EURO 2020 qualifying campaign. Played from the start, Jankto was substituted by Matej Vydra at the start of the second half.
