Football Data: The inside track on Sampdoria v Crotone

The leading Italian statistics agency on national and international football has delved into their archives to produce some facts and figures on Sunday’s game at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris.

The Blucerchiati short on goalscorers. Sampdoria have the fewest number of goalscorers in Serie A this season: only Ricky Alvarez, Edgar Barreto, Bruno Fernandes, Luis Muriel, Dennis Praet, Fabio Quagliarella and Patrik Schick have found the net in the league so far.

Substitutes doing the job. On the other hand, Sampdoria have the most goals from off this bench this season, with ten goals scored by substitutes. Schick has six, Bruno Fernandes three and Alvarez one.

Crotone breaking ground in Serie A. Crotone haven’t lost for three matches – a pair of 2-1 wins and a draw – which is their best-ever run in the top flight. The last time they lost was at home to Fiorentina on 19 March, 1-0.

The Calabrians’ penalty-box dilemma. Sunday’s opponents have conceded nine penalties in 2016/17, more than any other side.

Second-half blues. Crotone have thrown away 18 points in the second half of matches so far this season.

Rosi, King of the Yellow Cards. Last week, Aleandro Rosi picked up his 12th booking of the campaign, the joint-most together with Empoli’s Giuseppe Bellusci and Fiorentina’s Nenad Tomovic.

Falcinelli needs three to break his record. With three goals in his last three games, Diego Falcinelli has already broken Crotone’s top-flight record goals haul with 11. Now the Rossoblu striker needs just three more to beat his own personal best, set for Perugia in Serie B back in 2014/15.
