Giampaolo happy with a point to stretch unbeaten run

Eight points from four games against Fiorentina, Roma (twice) and Torino is a decent return by anyone’s standards, so you can understand Marco Giampaolo not being too displeased at failing to take all three points against Torino.

“I’d like to see us climb higher up the table but we’ve beaten Fiorentina and Roma away and drawn with Torino and Roma at home – I can’t be unhappy with that. A point keeps us moving,” he coach told Samp TV after the match.

“It was a tough, physical game today – exactly as I expected it to be. Torino came here with three big guys in midfield and made it a real battle but we were able to match them in an area we don’t normally excel at.”

As for Lucas Torreira’s free-kick goal: “We conceded like that once before and the lads remembered it. They’re switched on like that.”
