“I’ll win Zenga over,” declares bullish Bonazzoli

Federico Bonazzoli spoke to the media for the first time as a Blucerchiati player after the morning session in Temù today.

“After two days’ work my first impressions are positive. We’ve started well and are moving along nicely. Walter Zenga is a great person, he’s already giving us a lot and I’m sure he’ll continue to do so. He’s an Inter legend so our Nerazzurri past is something we have in common. I have great memories of Inter but now I play for Sampdoria, a fantastic club where the stadium and fans are among the best in Italy,” he began.

Training at altitude is definitely one of the most physically demanding parts of preseason, and Bonazzoli was under no illusions in that regard: “It’s been a really tough start, more testing that last year.”

The young forward then spoke about new team-mate Eder: “He’s a great striker and a really nice person, he’s really helping us youngsters. Now it’s up to me to play and score as much as possible, given that the club has shown its faith in me. I’m happy to be here and I’ve been shown a very warm welcome, I feel like I’m part of the family.

“We’ve got some important matches ahead of us in the Europa League. We want to reach the group stages, but let’s take it one step at a time!” declared Bonazzoli.
