Jankto strike secures Czech win over Bereszynski’s Poland. Praet on bench against Iceland
Jakub Jankto got one over his Sampdoria team-mate Bartosz Bereszynski as he bagged the match-winner for the Czech Republic in a friendly against Poland on Thursday night. The Doria midfielder scored the only goal of the game – his second for the senior national side – in the 52nd minute at PGE Arena in Gdansk. Jankto was substituted off in the 66th minute while Bereszynski played the full match.
Elsewhere Dennis Praet was an unused substitute as Belgium beat Iceland 2-0 in a UEFA Nations League clash. Victory consolidates the Red Devils’ place at the top of League A Group 2: they need a draw away to Switzerland in their last game on Sunday 18 November to book their place in the finals.
Emil Audero meanwhile was on the losing side as Italy U21s slipped to a 2-1 defeat at the hands of England U21s. Moise Kean struck for the Azzurri at Ferrara’s Stadio Mazza in between Dominic Solanke’s double (8, 52).
