Jankto unequivocal on Samp win: “This victory means so much”

“We wanted to win at all costs.”

Jakub Jankto didn’t underplay the importance of this afternoon’s result, a win that puts the club back on track for their European ambitions.

“We had loads of chances,” admitted a satisfied Jankto, “and we only won through a penalty, but I can say that’s just fine. We’re pleased and the result was deserved.”

Nevertheless, Cagliari proved stubborn opposition and the Blucerchiati were required to roll up their sleeves and work hard for the win.

“It was a tough game,” continued the Czech midfielder. “They came here with a clear game plan but our ability came to the fore in the second half. Winning in this way is a positive.

“As for my performance, I’m always trying to be consistent and I had some chances to score. It’s a shame none went in. We’ll head to Ferrara for our next match in a determined frame of mind.”
