Rafael introduces himself: “Ferrero, Giampaolo and the fans – my reasons for joining Samp”

Rafael Cabral Barbosa is beaming with excitement at the thought of beginning his new adventure in a Blucerchiati shirt.

“Wearing the jersey of such an important club is an honour for me,” the former Santos and Napoli keeper declared in his first interview with Samp TV. “Thanks to the president Massimo Ferrero for giving me this opportunity. The coach Marco Giampaolo views the role of the goalkeeper as key to building up play and the fans here are amazing.

“Samp have a long tradition of Brazilian players,” Rafael continued. “Plenty of legends like Cerezo, Silas, Doriva and my old team-mate Da Costa have played here. Junior Tavares and I will work hard to follow in the footsteps of those who came before us.”
