Samp Primavera strike late to snatch point from Sassuolo clash
Sampdoria Primavera captain Yassine Ejjaki dispatched a 92nd-minute penalty to secure a precious point for his side against Sassuolo on Friday.
The Blucerchiati nearly went home empty handed once again despite a good performance away at Sassuolo after Giacomo Raspadori put the home side 1-0 up with 15 minutes to play, but Doria showed character to salvage their second point of the season and take a modest step forward in the table.
Samp started well and came close to taking the lead through Benedetti, with Veips also rueing his misfortune after Turati palmed his header onto the post. Sassuolo took the lead against the run of play on 76 minutes, but after Cabral was felled in the box with 90 minutes already on the clock Ejjaki stepped up to fire home for 1-1.
Doria will now turn their sights to the Genoa derby as the look for their first win of the season.
