Samp senior side triumph 5-2 in training match with Primavera

The sun was shining in Bogliasco, as the Sampdoria squad was put through its paces in the last training session of the week. With a number of players away on international duty, the players that were left played a training match against the Primavera, coached by Simone Pavan.

The youngsters put on a good showing, giving Marco Giampaolo’s team an opportunity to test their legs and their tactical approach despite the break in league matches. The game ended 5-2 to the first team and provided the coaches with food for thought.

Fabio Quagliarella broke the deadlock on 11 minutes, beating Andrea Tozzo from close range. He doubled his and the first team’s tally less than five minutes later. Gianluca Caprari, having hit the post just before the half-hour mark, made it 3-0 to the first team on 35 minutes. Ognjen Stijepovic, on trial from Mladost Pogdorica, pulled one back for the Primavera just one minute later.

In the second half, with the first team leading 3-1, the two coaches shuffled their respective packs. Gomes Ricciulli and Gaston Ramirez both found the back of the net, making it 5-1 to the senior side. However the Primavera managed to pull another goal back, through Filip Djuricic, after Dodo’s assist.

The team will have Sunday and Monday off and will meet up again on Tuesday morning to continue their preparations for the clash with Juventus.
