Seven academy youngsters receive international call-ups

Seven Sampdoria youth players have been called up by their respective national sides for European Championship qualification matches and friendly games over the coming weeks.

Three Doria youngsters will be hoping to help their national teams through the first round of qualifying for the 2019 European Under-19 Championship, with a series of double-headers scheduled for 10 and 13 October.

Markus Soomets‘ Estonia, in Group 2, will host Italy (14:00) and Denmark (14:00) in Rakvere, on 10 and 13 October respectively.

In Group 7 Nik Prelec‘s Slovenia are due to face Hungary in Budapest (20:15) and Austria in Csákvár (15:30).

Masimiliano Doda‘s Albania play at home, in Durres, against Ukraine (14:00) and Slovakia (12:00) in Group 8.

Robert Veips meanwhile will take part in a training camp with Latvia U19s, which includes two friendly matches against Greece, on 8 and 15 October.

Bruno Dos Santos Amado could be involved in up to three games with Portugal Under-19s as they have matches lined up against England in Cova da Piedade (11 October, 16:00), Montenegro in Kromeriz (14 October, 17.00) and Czech Republic in Zlin (16 October, 17:00).

Jamie Yayi Mpie has been called up by Belgium U18s for a five-day training camp, ending with a friendly match against Italy in Genk on Thursday 11 October (18:00).

Goalkeeper Petar Zovko will be hoping to reach the Elite Round of qualifying for the European Under-17 Championship with Bosnia and Herzegovina. Zovko’s national side will play hosts in Group 2, with fixtures against Gibraltar and Iceland in Zenica, on 10 and 13 October, and Ukraine in Kakanj, on 16 October, with all three kicking off at 15:00.
