Youth players Yayi Mpie and Trimboli named in 21-man squad for Napoli

At a rain-soaked Bogliasco on Friday morning, Sampdoria wrapped up preparations for their trip to Napoli. Afterwards, Marco Giampaolo confirmed a 21-man squad for Saturday’s 18:00 CET kick-off.

Five senior players are unavailable for the Serie A Week 22 fixture: Dennis Praet (suspended), deadline-day signing Marco Sau (who has chosen shirt No.20) and Edgar Barreto, Gianluca Caprari and Jacopo Sala, who continue to work their way back to fitness following their respective injuries.

To make up the numbers, Giampaolo has called up two youth players for the visit to Naples: Belgian striker Yayi Mpie from the U19s and Italy U17 midfielder Simone Trimboli. Their squad numbers are 31 and 30 respectively.
