Zapata: “Happy to score again. Now we must beat Torino”

Sunday’s victory over Roma was still fresh in the mind when the players reported back to Bogliasco for training on Tuesday morning. Among them was Duvan Zapata, whose seventh goal of the campaign earned Samp the points at the Olimpico.

“It felt great to beat Roma,” the Colombian told Samp TV. “I’m happy to get back on the score sheet but the whole squad deserves credit because after the game on Wednesday we went out there and produced another top performance.”

Next up for Sampdoria are Torino – the team Zapata scored against just 17 seconds into his Doria debut.

“It was a big goal for me and I have a wonderful memory of it,” the 26-year-old recalled. “It’s going to be a different game on Saturday, though. It’ll be tough but we have every chance of winning this one too.”
