Zenga gives his take on the Serie A 2015/16 draw: “The league is a marathon, not a race”

Walter Zenga spoke to Samp TV this evening after the draw for the 2015/16 Serie A season was made at the Expo 2015 headquarters in Milan.

“The league is a marathon, not a race, so we need to perform well throughout and tackle each match in the best way possible. Nobody actually knows what shape the teams will be in when the season gets underway and each fixture comes around,” declared the Blucerchiati coach.

“We’re proud to welcome Carpi to Genoa of the opening day. It’ll be their Serie A debut so will go down in the history of the club. It’s also a chance for me to cross paths with Fabrizio Castori, who has always done a good job and is crowning a long managerial journey with this deserved Serie A bow,” continued Zenga.

“Napoli in Week 2 will be a great match. It’s good to see big match-ups in the opening and closing weeks of the season, we’ll have to adapt to that too,” concluded Zenga.
