Best of Praet: a video tribute to the Sampdoria number 10

Goodbye, Dennis, and wishing you the best of luck! Praet has said his goodbyes to Sampdoria and is now heading to Premier League outfit Leicester City, but the Blucerchiati faithful will always remember the blond youngster who joined the club from Anderlecht and went on to mature and develop considerably as a Serie A player. After three seasons in which he made over 100 appearances and even wore the captain’s armband on occasion, the Belgian is now embarking on a new adventure.

Alongside Dugout, we have therefore decided to take a look back at the midfielder’s stint in Genoa. Praet, who joined Sampdoria in 2016 as the club’s most expensive midfielder at the time, gradually earned more and more plaudits thanks to his performances and will certainly never forget his maiden goal against Roma in a dramatic 3-2 win. He found the net for the fourth and final time with a thumping volley away to Sassuolo in March 2019. Not one to shy away from the dirty work, the 25-year-old earned the fans’ appreciation whenever he played, going from number 18 to number 10, or what we would call a 10/10 player.
