Di Francesco takes positives from Real Vicenza friendlies

Two Sampdorias, two opposition teams and two very different games – that was Doria’s friendly double-header against Real Vicenza in a nutshell, which Eusebio Di Francesco analysed after the games.

“The first friendly was more difficult because the opponents were better than the second team,” the coach began. “I thought the lads would be a little fatigued after all the work we’ve done this week but they came to the fore in the second half and strung together some excellent moves.

“There were more youngsters involved in the second match, a bit more exuberance and desire to try things. They had lots of good ideas. You have to be a bit daring and try things that can hurt the opposition.”
