These are eleven words we have chosen to honour International Women’s Day, this 8 March. Rather than a time to celebrate, it’s a moment for reflection and commitment on the part of everyone.

Ahead of their match with Hellas Verona, the Sampdoria team headed out for their pre-match warm-up with eleven special t-shirts.

On the front of each one was a stylised image of a woman, which was also on a shoulder patch on the match-day jerseys, as well as a series of words relevant to women and the rights that, even today and despite great social achievements and policies linked to equal opportunities, women all over the world are still clamouring for, as they fight every day against violence, abuse and discrimination.
