Samp help Mascherona Centre for International Women’s Day
Sampdoria have teamed up with the Mascherona Anti-Violence Centre ahead of International Women’s Day, with the team set to wear special shirts for their game against Cagliari.
The left sleeve of the Blucerchiati matchday jersey will feature a patch depicting three women’s hands – three fists raised to the sky against violence and prejudice – together with the words ‘International Women’s Day’, which is celebrated every year on 8 March.
The club will continue to offer its support after the game with the kits worn by the players being put up for auction. The proceeds will go to the Genoa-based Mascherona Anti-Violence Centre, where women who have suffered abuse can find someone who will listen to them and support them in their decisions.
