Sampdoria hard at work ahead of Atalanta clash

Claudio Ranieri’s Sampdoria squad had their second session of the week on Thursday ahead of Sunday afternoon’s visit of Atalanta to the Stadio Luigi Ferraris.

The day began with some video analysis, after which the squad headed outside to Pitch 2 for a fitness-based warm-up, technique drills and a practice game with a focus on possession. The coaching staff rounded things off with a match exercise: the players involved for the majority or all of the SPAL game sat this one out, with youngsters Lorenzo Avogadri, Felice D’Amico, Simone Giordano, Tommaso Maggioni, Marco Pompetti and Simone Trimboli joining in to make up the numbers.

Andrea Seculin continued working on his recovery plan with goalkeeping coach Fabrizio Lorieri.

Samp will train again on Friday morning, with Ranieri set to hold his pre-match press conference at 13:00 CET.
