U20 and U21 call-ups: five Doria players on international duty

Sampdoria have plenty of youngsters heading off on international duty for friendly matches and European Under-21 Championship qualifiers ahead of next summer’s tournament in Italy and San Marino.

Joachim Andersen and Dawid Kownacki will find themselves in opposing dressing rooms for once as Denmark and Poland face off in Group 3 of Euro U21 qualifying. The two nations are separated by just one point in the table with two games left to play, meaning that the showdown at Aalborg’s Nordjyske Arena on Friday 12 October (18:00 CEST) could be decisive.

The Danes then play their final qualifier on 16 October at home against the Faroe Islands (18:00 CEST kick-off). Poland take on Georgia at the GOSiR stadium in Gdynia at the same time.

Ognjen Stijepovic has been called up by Montenegro for their upcoming Euro U21 qualifiers against Luxembourg and Kazakhstan. The striker will travel to Podgorica at the weekend for the national-team training camp, with the games set to take place on 12 October and 16 October respectively (both 16:00 CEST kick-offs) at the Gradski Stadion in Niksic.

Italy will continue to prepare for their home tournament will friendlies against Belgium and Turkey, with Emil Audero again in the squad. The games are set for 11 October in Udine and 15 October in Vicenza.

Ronaldo Vieira will link up with the England U20 squad for two 8 Nations Tournament games against Italy (11 October, 20:00 CEST, Wesham) and Czech Republic (15 October, 19:00 CEST, Ceske Budejovice).
