U21 Euro: Audero makes 23-man Italy squad

Luigi Di Biagio, the coach of Italy’s Under-21 team, has announced the list of 23 Azzurrini who will compete in the U21 European Championship, set to take place in Italy and San Marino from 16 to 30 June. Samp goalkeeper Emil Audero makes the squad while Federico Bonazzoli just misses out.

The squad will round off their preparations for the tournament on Saturday, training in Formello. They will then move to Bologna, which has been picked as their base for the entire championship, with training to take place in Casteldebole.

Italy U21s are in Group A. Their first game will be on Sunday 16 June against Spain in Bologna (21:00 CEST), which will be followed with a clash with Poland on Wednesday 19 June (21:00 CEST) in the same city. Their final group game will be against Belgium on Saturday 22 June (21:00 CEST) in Reggio Emilia.
