Hermansen continuing Norwegian traditions: “I’m here to progress”

Sampdoria recently announced the signing of another Norwegian player in the shape of Noah Bech Hermansen, who joins compatriots Morten Thorsby and Kristoffer Askildsen in Liguria.

We recently caught up with the youngster to see how he’s settled in at the club.

“I’m 18 years old and I’ve joined from Fredrikstad, which is a club in a small town about an hour from Oslo,” said Hermansen, who is part of Felice Tufano’s Primavera squad at Samp. “The fact that there were already two other Norwegians here didn’t have any bearing on my decision – I didn’t think twice when I agreed to join Samp.”

Hermansen spoke positively about his development at the club.

“The pandemic means that the league is on hold for now, but thankfully we’re still training,” he said. “I’m learning from the coach and my team-mates every day. I’m a centre-back with good technique. I can read the game well but I have lots of things I need to improve on and I’m here to progress. My main aim here at Samp is to have fun. If I’m having fun, I’m improving.”
