Samp Women brush aside Inter: 3-0

Sampdoria Women secured their first-ever home victory on Saturday afternoon – and what a win it was!

Having beaten Lazio in their league opener then succumbed to second-place Sassuolo and third-place AC Milan, Antonio Cincotta’s side produced a brilliant display to see off Inter 3-0, with Stefania Tarenzi bagging a brace either side of Cecilia Re’s effort.

Ironically it was a pair of former Inter players who combined for Samp’s opener in the 13th minute – Yoreli Rincon providing the pass for Tarenzi to notch her 100th career goal in Serie A.

Two minutes later, from a Rincon corner Re powered home a header to make it 2-0.

With a two-goal cushion, Sampdoria set about controlling the game until ten minutes from time, when Tarenzi notched her second of the day with Rincon making it a hat-trick of assists.

3-0 the final score – a fantastic result for the Blucerchiate but there’s little time to celebrate:. Pomigliano are the next visitors in Bogliasco on Thursday.
