Primavera: Samp win 4-1 at Juventus

The Sampdoria Primavera side picked up a huge 4-1 win away at Juventus on Sunday, to make it four consecutive wins in the league.

In what was an action-packed first 45 minutes, it was the Bianconeri who drew first blood. Marco Da Graca gave the home side the lead on 18 minutes, firing a diagonal shot beyond Lorenzo Avogadri. However the Blucerchiati did not wait long to respond. Just five minutes later, Antonis Siatounis diverted home a cross-shot from Emanuel Ercolano, applying a sliding finish. Samp pushed on and manged to take a 2-1 lead before the interval. Simone Trimboli converted a spot kick on 41 minutes, after he was brought down in the penalty box by Fabio Miretti.

After the half-time interval, it only took the away side 5 minutes to take a 3-1 lead. This time, Lorenzo Di Stefano received the ball from Trimboli, worked his way into the box and fired a diagonal effort past the Juventus keeper. Avogadri made an important save from Da Graca as the Bianconeri tried to haul themselves back into the game. However the result was put more or less beyond doubt with 20 minutes still to play, as Gerard Yepes converted to finish off a counter attack led by Nik Prelec.

The victory was Sampdoria Primavera’s fourth on the bounce in the league and takes the team to 13 points. Up next is a midweek clash away at Atalanta.
