Eder opens, Gabbiadini closes: in Bologna the final result is a 2-2 draw
It could have been three or zero points but we finally come back from
the "Dall’Ara" stadium with one. These are obvious thoughts at the end
of a match – it was the 1.900th played by U.C. Sampdoria in the Serie A championship – that was, up to the end, everything but predictable. It’s
not an easy thing to rashly say if we have to be satisfied or not with
the 2-2 draw.
Match. Anyway, Eder Citadin Martins gave to the blucerchiati the lead (thanks also to a
Gianluca Curci howler), then Bologna came from behind with Davide Moscardelli and Panagiotis Kone,
but Delio Rossi’s guys had the persistence and the strength to change
the result again with a great Manolo Gabbiadini free-kick. And, honestly, we
could have also scored the final k.o., on a penalty shot for example,
since we deserved at least two – rather clear – when the result was 0-1
and when it was 2-2.
Improve. «We made the match, showing heart and hustle, in fact we searched for the winning goal up to the end. It’s a pity, because in matter of points we deserved to win». Mister Rossi can’t hide some regrets at the end of the first blucerchiati away match of this championship. The 2-2 draw means a point in the ranking and shows some aspects we have to keep working on. «I regret how we acted in some situations –says the mister -. We have to improve: on free-kicks and throw-in, for example, we’ve been very distracted».
Bomber. «I spent a good time in Bologna last year – explains the ex Gabbiadini, just called by Cesare Prandelli in the Italian National team -, I’m happy for the applauses I received, but that’s football. And tonight I wanted to score: I’m playing for Sampdoria and I give everything for my team. My goal? It was good but what is really important are the draw and the point we took. Derby? I’ve tried to keep it out of my mind but from tomorrow on I will start thinking of it. I know it’s a match different from all the others».
