Mihajlovic is our new mister: «I’m Sampdoriano. This is why I’m back»

«I’m very
happy to be here, I feel like at home. I see many faces I already
know and others that are new to me, but we will have time to know
each-other. There’s a familiar atmosphere here». That’s the way
Sinisa Mihajlovic, our new mister, presented himself. The former
Sampdoria defender, who has just left his job as Serbia manager, came
back to Bogliasco to help the team that, almost twenty years ago, saw
his consecration in the "football that counts". «When I talked
with my players, I will quote John Fitzgerald Kennedy – he said -. Ask not what
Sampdoria can do for you, ask what you can do for Sampdoria».

Pride. «When you
put this shirt on, you must do it with pride – he continued -, I
wore it and I know the emotions you feel. We will obtain the
salvation: we’ll play with passion, honor and a sense of belonging.
Winners always find a way, losers find an excuse. We’ll find the
way. How are we going to do it? Well, by playing a good football but
not only. I want everyone to believe in an ideal of fight and of
pride. In front of the Berlin Wall Kennedy said: Ich bin ein

Training. After the press conference,
Mihajlovic directed his first training together with his
collaborators Nenad Sakic and Emilio De Leo, the fitness coach Antonio Bovenzi and the
mister of the Allievi, Francesco Pedone, to whom was entrusted the management
of the team after Delio Rossi’s dismissal. The only players who will not
be at disposal for the next match, scheduled on Sunday afternoon at
the "Luigi Ferraris" against Lazio, are Gaetano Berardi and Bartosz Salamon, both
injured and Eder Citadin Martins, disqualified.
