Sansone, Bjarnason, Krsticic and Renan: Samp beats Verona and advances in TIM Cup

Sampdoria "B" is ok. The team plays, scores, advances in TIM Cup and
books a next match, that will be played in Rome at the beginning of 2014 at the "Olimpico". Despite the final 4-1 obtained against Hellas Verona, the
fourth round of the Italian competition was not a formality. In any
case, it was a very useful match for Sinisa Mihajlovic, who got really positive
indications from the so-called "substitutes"; indications that seem to
be in line with the ones of past matches against Lazio and Inter.
Determination, character, offensive game: it really seems to be the
right way.

Poker. As announced – in a "Ferraris" with few fans but warmed up by the Gradinata Sud and by the usual friendly atmosphere between the supporters of the two teams -, both the misters decide to make some changes in the lines-up because of the turnover. At the minute 15th Gianluca Sansone gets the party started and gives Samp the lead scoring with a mighty left-footed shot. Five minutes later the Icelander Birkir Bjarnason doubles after a short save of the goalkeeper Mihaylov. The visitors react and at the minute 19th of the second half Longo reduces the distance. Samp doesn’t give up and in the last part of the match the blucerchiati find the strength to score again thanks to a great Nenad Krsticic action ended at the minute 38th with a right-footed shot in the top corner and with a warm hug to his compatriot Mihajlovic. Some minutes later Renan Garcia scores the fourth goal for the blucerchiati and affixes the seal: it is the second goal in four days for the Brazilian and it means qualification.

Way. «It was an important game – says our mister during the press conference -, because it was a true match; an in/out match. And it gave me the opportunity to better know my players and understand who are the ones I can count on. I look beyond the result, and I got positive answers. I think we are on the right way. We must go on and never give up, starting from next match against Catania: we must always do our best and reach the goal».
