Masterstroke in Chievo’s home: Eder launches the blucerchiati

An
early Christmas present, hoping that next Sunday we’ll have another one
under Marassi’s tree. Beating the undefeated ChievoVerona in its home,
Sampdoria wins the duel between the two teams that are probably the championship better-trained ones and, its play and approach are, once
again, impressive. Thanks to the goal scored by Eder Citadin Martins (whose conditions,
thinking about next match against Parma, have to be tested just like Lorenzo De
Silvestri’s ones), captain Daniele Gastaldello & co. continue the positive
series (five matches considering Serie A and TIM Cup) and three matches
before the end of the first part of the championship they reach quota 17
points in the table.

Up to the sky. Our mister is forced to change the starting line-up, because of Nicola Pozzi and Pedro Obiang’s precarious conditions: Renan Garcia plays in the midfield next to Angelo Palombo, Eder is the striker, the offensive trio is made up by Nenad Krsticic, Manolo Gabbiadini (who will skip the 2013 last match due to the fourth yellow card picked up) and Roberto Soriano. Vasco Regini replaces the injured Andrea Costa on the left wing. Over the 15 minute everything changes: Eder takes advantage of a corner by Palombo, jumps to the sky and scores with a header his 6th seasonal goal giving Samp the lead at the “Bentegodi”. And the advantage will last until Rizzoli’s final whistle.

Atmosphere. «I’m happy for the result, for the spirit and for our attitude, not for the way we played: in the first half we played with too many long balls, due also to Chievo’s value. In the second one we weren’t that bad and determined as we should have been to close the match». At the end of the match Sinisa Mihajlovic supports the carrot and stick approach: ««It’s evident when they play that the guys always act as a team. And it is comforting. There is always a great atmosphere both during trainings and matches. There will be bad moments but there are different ways to lose a match. What is really important is the performance, playing well and always try to win».
