Sampdoria recriminates, Taarabt and Rami relaunch Milan

Let's
get things straight: we lost and it was mainly because of us. However,
there is no doubt that the responsibilities for our second consecutive
defeat – the first one in a home match since Sinisa Mihajlovic arrival – must
be attributed to some referee decisions too; controversial decisions
about key-episodes that actually changed, in favour of Clarence Seedorf’s Milan,
the result of match that the two teams were playing on the same level,
both trying to get a victory.

Protests. With neither Gastaldello nor De Silvestri at disposal, our mister chooses a four-men defence with Fornasier and Costa playing on the wings and the duo Regini-Mustafi in the middle. Sampdoria starts well but at the minute 12 the blucerchiati capitulate: Da Costa can’t keep a header by Taarabt who is able to score at the second attempt. Our reaction is not the expected one and in the second half, despite the entrance of Maxi López, Milan doubles after a corner: Pazzini obstructs Da Costa and Rami scores an open goal. Samp recriminates but it brings to nothing. Actually, it makes things worse: referee Doveri does not concede us a penalty (clear foul of Amelia on Eder) and sends Maxi off (after picking up two bookings) for dissents.

Mea culpa. «We need confidence – says Mihajlovic at the end of the match -. I saw perseverance, sacrifice and a team spirit. Actually, two episodes decided the match, even if Milan has been superior to us. We must keep calm and confident, but we have to go on working match after match». Angleo Palombo, who won’t be at disposal for Sunday match against Torino, adds: «We must do a mea culpa because we were not the best Sampdoria. Referee’s mistakes? Talking about referees would be an excuse and when a group looks for excuses it means that things don’t work. We deserved the defeat, we are not looking for alibis. We will restart from next match».
