Brignoli on Serie A debut: “I want to thank my team-mates. This is reward for my hard work”
It was a tough day at Juventus Stadium for all involved on Saturday evening, but after the game young keeper Alberto Brignoli spoke of his pride at making his Serie A bow.
“Getting a start is a reward for my hard work and all the effort my agent, family and friends have put in over the years,” Brignoli told Samp TV. “I’ve learned so much this year despite not playing much. I have to thank Emiliano and Christian Puggioni for that, as well as the goalkeeping coach Andrea Sardini.”
Brignoli also acknowledged that Samp’s poor season had impacted on his chances of donning the gloves more often: “It’s been hard to get playing time this year. Given the way the team’s played, with us getting knocked out of the Europa League and Coppa Italia early on, opportunities have been limited. I was aware of that, especially with a keeper like Viviano ahead of me.
