eSports back a good cause: Samp v Roma in the Officium Cup

A deluge put paid to Sampdoria’s meeting with Roma in Serie A earlier this season. While the Blucerchiati wait for the league match to be rearranged, Mattia “Lonewolf92” Guarracino will meet his Giallorossi counterpart Nicolò “Insa” Mirra on Sunday.

The two professional gamers meet as part of the Officium Cup, a FIFA 18 tournament created to support research on cystic fibrosis.

The two sides will meet at 14:30CET on the LED screen at the Garden Factory. The match will be one of the first to be played between professional clubs since the new version of the EA Sports game was released. The competition will begin in the morning (accreditation open from 09:30, consoles on at 10:30) with the first stage, before continuing until 18:00 with the knockout round.

Sky Sport Italia will film the event which will come to a close in the afternoon to celebrate the fund raiser with music from WakeUpCall.
