FIFA eClub World Cup qualification: Part 1

Sampdoria’s FIFA eClub World Cup qualification campaign kicked off in Rome yesterday, with Doria competing in Group 1 of the European section of the competition.

Representing the Blucerchiati in the competition are Mattia Lonewolf92 Guarracino on the PlayStation 4 and new signing Leon Blackarrow889 Aussieker on the Xbox, with 12 teams competing for just one spot in the World Cup finals in February.

Doria were narrowly beaten 4-3 on aggregate by Lille in their first match (the sum of the results on the two consoles), but bounced back in style with a memorable 5-3 victory over PSV, who count reigning PS4 world champion Stefano Pinna within their ranks.

Things took a turn for the worse in the final two games of the day, however, with Samp losing out to both Roma (Lonewolf’s 2-1 win was cancelled out by a 4-2 defeat for Blackarrow) and Norwegian outfit Valerenga, who sit top of the group after a 5-4 win over Doria.

Samp have a tough task ahead on Day 2, with just three points on the board so far, but the Blucerchiati will take heart from the fact that they’ve already faced the three top-placed teams.

The battle resumes tomorrow…
