No Ferragosto respite for Samp, double session set for Wednesday

Ahead of the start of the new league season, when they will face newly-promoted Benevento at the Ferraris, Sampdoria got back on the training pitch.

Marco Giampaolo and his staff initiated their preparations on Ferragosto, a public holiday in Italy, with a late afternoon training session on the upper pitch in Bogliasco. The players did some fitness work as well as some technical and tactical drills, followed by training matches to work on specific areas.

Nicola Murru, Fabio Quagliarella and Andrea Tozzo followed their own respective programmes. Meanwhile Emiliano Viviano went through a recovery session. He was joined by his fellow goalkeepers, with youngster Matteo Raspa added to the mix. Patrik Schick’s training consisted of preparatory work.

A double training session is planned for Wednesday. However, due to the building work in progress in Bogliasco, the session will not be open to the public.
