Sampdoria Club Indonesia president shares love for all things Doria
Ferry Fibriandani’s love affair with Sampdoria began back in the mid-1990s, when Sven-Goran Eriksson took his Blucerchiati side on a summer tour of Indonesia with the aim of boosting the popularity of the club in Southeast Asia.
It might have been the unique beauty of the Doria jersey, or the hugely talented players that wore it in that era, but this was a watershed moment for Ferry.
“I was bowled over the first time I set eyes on the Sampdoria jersey,” explains Ferry – who is now the president of Sampdoria Club Indonesia. “I set up the IndoSamp group in 2008 and we now have over 300 members. I’ve visited Genoa four times – it’s always a wonderful experience to be in the Gradinata Sud.”
