#SampthingDifferent: Daniel, Benedek and Istvan introduce us to Ungheria Blucerchiata

Despite the huge distance separating Genoa from Hungary, local Blucerchiati die-hards Daniel, Benedek and Istvan keep their love for the club very much alive.

Born out of a curiosity for the name and an instant attraction to that unmistakeable shirt, their passion has been nurtured since the 1980s and was made formal in 2015 with the establishment of the Ungheria Blucerchiata supporters’ club.

“We started supporting Sampdoria at different eras, some at the end of the 1980s, others during the mid-1990 and a few thanks to Antonio Cassano and Giampaolo Pazzini,” they explain. “We didn’t know each other before and became friends over the internet, as we discovered that we shared this love.

“We often meet up in a friend’s restaurant in Budapest to watch games together and a couple of times a year we travel to Genoa to support our beloved club.”
