Bahlouli strike not enough as Samp U19s are held by Sassuolo

Sampdoria Primavera had to settle for a point against Sassuolo as Mohamed Bahlouli’s first-half strike was cancelled out by Elia Giani in the second period.

Simone Pavan was forced to rethink his plans early on when both Campeol and Peeters went off injured after just 11 minutes, with Giordano and Soomets coming on to replace them.

The Blucerchati regrouped and took the lead in the 22nd minute as Bahlouli angled a neat finish past Turati.

Samp continued to carve out openings after the break, with Bahlouli very much at the heart of things, but were unable to double their advantage.

Sassuolo equalised with 15 minutes left on the clock when Raspadori centred for Giani and the substitute found the back of the net via an unfortunate Canovi deflection.

Next up for Pavan’s boys is the Genoa derby in a week’s time.
