Copa America: Ponce doesn’t make Venezuela’s final squad

After a 1-1 draw against Guatemala in their final warm-up game ahead of the 100th Copa America, Venezuela have released a 23-man definitive squad for the tournament in the United States.

Blucerchiati youngster Andres Ponce won’t play any part in Rafael Dudamel’s plans as the Vinotinto coach has opted for experience over youth.

There are no doubts that the Sampdoria Primavera striker, who is yet to turn 20, will have many more opportunities to shine on an international stage.
