#GÖT3B0RG: relive Samp’s Cup Winners’ Cup success on social media

For the last 30 years, 9 May has been a unique date unlike any other for Sampdoria fans. On that date in 1990, a year before clinching Serie A glory, Doria lifted the Cup Winners’ Cup to ensure the club’s place in European football history. We now wish to celebrate the 30^th anniversary of the hard-fought and deserved victory over Belgian side Anderlecht by reliving the triumph in the most realistic way possible.

You will be able to follow the whole final in Gothenburg live on Facebook from 20:30 CEST on Saturday 9 May. Bruno Pizzul’s commentary will take us back in time as if we were at the Gamla Ullevi stadium watching on with admiration, as Luca Vialli struck a stunning brace in extra-time and captain Luca Pellegrini proudly lifted the club’s maiden European trophy.

It will be a goosebump-filled event that is not to be missed, whether you experienced it first-hand at the time or had not yet been born. Besides the match itself, there will be plenty of other activity linked to that incredible evening on our official social media channels. 30 years may have passed, but the magic from one of the defining evenings in the club’s history is very much still with us.
