Samp put three past Triglav

Sampdoria served up a convincing 3-0 win over Slovenian second-division side Triglav this evening in Pinzolo, with president Massimo Ferrero looking on.

Lining up in a 4-3-3 formation, the Blucerchiati took the lead on 32 minutes after Wszolek finished off a flowing team move. It was 2-0 just three minutes later as Eder was brought down in the box for a penalty. The Brazilian saw his effort saved, but Fernando was there to stick away the rebound.

Samp had a third before half-time through Muriel, who made no mistake in capping off a quick counter-attack. The second half saw Walter Zenga rest some legs and give playing time to some of the other squad members, but there were to be no more goals.

Next up for Zenga’s men is a friendly against Trapani tomorrow.

Sampdoria 3-0 NK Triglav

Scorers: Wszolek 32, Fernando 35, Muriel 39.
