Friendly with Primavera lads watched on by Romei, Osti, Pecini and scouts

Sampdoria continued their build-up to Sunday’s lunchtime encounter against Hellas Verona with an in-house friendly match at the Mugnaini today.

The first-team squad were joined by a number of Marco Masi’s Primavera boys for a game played with mixed teams. Taking it all in from the sidelines were Antonio Romei, sporting directors Carlo Osti and Riccardo Pecini and all of Sampdoria’s scouts, who have gathered in Genoa for a meeting with the club’s top brass.

Emiliano Viviano, Roberto Soriano, Eder Citadin Martins and Luis Muriel didn’t take part in the friendly but trained separately on the pitch, as did Djamel Mesbah, Matías Silvestre and Edgar Barreto, who are all following individual programmes. Andrea Coda, Lazaros Christodoulopoulos and Nenad Krsticic also had personalised workouts.

The team will train again – behind closed doors – tomorrow morning.
