Tactics and practice games at the Mugnaini, afternoon session on Friday

Vincenzo Montella and his team held another training session this morning as the squad continues its preparations for this weekend’s away trip to Udinese. There was nearly a full group for Montella to work with this morning, with just Colombian due Luis Muriel and Carlos Carbonero still to arrive back after international duty.

After a quick warm-up, the Blucerchiati moved on to ball work. First up were some possession drills and a tactical focus in both attack and defence, before the players got stuck into a high-press practice game and finally a two-touch minimatch.

Djamel Mesbah was out on the pitches but trained separately, while Andrea Coda and Nenad Krsticic continued to close in on a return to group training. Joaquin Correa received physiotherapy treatment.

Sampdoria will train again tomorrow afternoon.
