Back to work ahead of Thursday’s cup clash with AC Milan
After returning to Genoa following Monday night’s draw against Lazio, Sampdoria got back to work at the Mugnaini on Tuesday to begin preparations for their upcoming Coppa Italia tie with AC Milan. The Blucerchiati are set to host the Rossoneri at the Stadio Ferraris on Thursday night (21:00 kick-off).
Vincenzo Montella split the squad in two for today’s session. Those who played at the Olimpico last night focused on recovery (outdoors, gym work and massage), while the other players were put through a standard programme involving a warm-up, possession games, a practice match and drills on attacking moves.
Tests carried out on Eder Citadin Martins this morning revealed a minor thigh injury. The striker has already begun treatment together with Matias Silvestre (thigh) and Edgar Barreto (foot).
Nenad Krsticic and Djamel Mesbah meanwhile continued their personalised programmes.
The Blucerchiati will gather back at the training ground for their next session tomorrow afternoon.
