Cassano: “This is a great team. Montella can get the best out of us”

Antonio Cassano was beaming when he spoke to Samp TV after the game against Genoa and made no attempt to hide his joy. Who could blame him after a derby success which saw him have a hand in all three of Doria’s goals.

“If the other players help me as they did tonight, it makes my job easier. The main thing is we all produced a great performance,” he smiled.

The No.99 added that he feels things will only get better: “We rolled our sleeves up after the match against Lazio because we knew we weren’t the players we were seeing back then. We’re a great side and we’re still at the start of our journey. I think this team is even better than the ones I played in from 2007 to 2010.

“It’s easier now with Vincenzo here: he has ideas, personality and everything needed to get us performing at our best.”
