President Ferrero attends Diakite and Quagliarella’s first session

It was an afternoon of firsts, comebacks and special guests at the Centro Sportivo Gloriano Mugnaini in Bogliasco. President Massimo Ferrero stopped by Poggio to greet the Sampdoria squad, who trained again in the drizzle ahead of the Torino match.

The group, bolstered by the arrivals of latest signings Modibo Diakite and Fabio Quagliarella, worked on fitness and technique at varying levels of intensity. The squad was split based on individual playing time on Sunday at Bologna.

Besides the new faces, Matias Silvestre and Fernando worked predominantly with the group on the upper pitch. The pair will both miss the next match through suspension. Carlos Carbonero had physio and treatment on a knock to his right knee, while Lorenzo De Silvestri continued his individual recovery programme in Rome.

The squad will train one more time tomorrow behind closed doors before the squad list is announced.
