Afternoon session minus international stars, Fernando and Palombo train separately

Sampdoria had their second afternoon training session in as many days on Wednesday as they continued to put the hard yards in despite the current Serie A hiatus.

With eight players away on international duty, Vincenzo Montella and his staff led the Blucerchiati through a series of technical and tactical drills and practice games on the main pitch at the Centro Sportivo Mugnaini in Bogliasco.

Four Primavera players – Giedrius Matulevicius, Giacomo Calo, Leonardo Serinelli and Andres Ponce – were once again taking part in first-team training.

Fernando continued working on his personalised training programme, while Angelo Palombo received treatment and underwent physiotherapy.

The Blucerchiati will be back on the training ground on Thursday morning.
