Montella: “Great memories in Florence but it’s points that matter tomorrow”

Vincenzo Montella knows exactly what he wants when Sampdoria visit Fiorentina on Sunday and he spelled it out loud and clear to the media.

“Yes, Fiorentina used to be my club and I have fond memories from my three years there but it makes little difference to how we prepare for and play this game. We need points, certainties and a good performance tomorrow.”

On his successor in the Viola dugout, Montella said: “Sousa deserves a lot of credit. They have a strong, well-balanced squad – especially up front.”
