Montella ready for Udinese: “Nous and determination will get us over the line”

“Two more victories will secure survival, let’s get the first against Udinese.”

Vincenzo Montella has set the benchmark at 39 points, asking his players to put an end to any relegation concerns as soon as possible.

“We’ve got a tough game coming up,” the Blucerchiati coach insisted, “against a team who like us deserve to be higher up in the table.

“We will need to show nous, determination and a refusal to back down in order to get the three points and continue the progress we’ve been making.”

With the continued absence of Joaquin Correa, Montella faces some questions over who to play in attack.

“Ricky Alvarez was training separately for some of this week, so we’ll make an assessment on his fitness. I didn’t take him off against Fiorentina for footballing reasons.

“As for whether to opt for Antonio Cassano or Luis Muriel, I’ll have to think long and hard on that because both deserve to play. Luis is training really well, something has changed in him despite the fact he hasn’t been involved that much.”
