Straight back on the double ahead of AC Milan visit. Thigh strain for Ivan

Sampdoria began the week’s training programme ahead of Sunday’s match against AC Milan with a double session in Bogliasco today.

In the morning Vincenzo Montella and his backroom staff split the squad into groups for work in the gym and on the pitch.

In the afternoon the Blucerchiati did tactical drills and played some small-sided games.

Pedro Pereira and Ricky Alvarez came through both workouts fine while Angelo Palombo was unable to take part in the afternoon session due to a bout of tonsillitis.

David Ivan had tests this morning which confirmed a thigh strain. The Slovakian midfielder has already begun a programme of treatment and physiotherapy.

Meanwhile Jacopo Sala (in Bogliasco) and Carlos Carbonero (in Barcelona) push on with their own recovery plans as they bid to return to full fitness.

The team will train on Thursday afternoon behind closed doors.
