Montella disappointed: “We’re not mathematically safe, we must keep fighting”

“I’m angry,” revealed Vincenzo Montella post-match, as he refused to the accept his side’s defeat at Palermo. The coach really didn’t enjoy his team’s display: “I obviously don’t like losing. We didn’t make the most of Palermo’s struggles in the league and we didn’t show what we can do. We made a good start but the mistake on the first goal tipped the balance and we weren’t able to change the tempo. That allowed them to manage the contest at will.

“We’re not mathematically safe yet, even though we already have 40 points, so we have to keep fighting. I’m not afraid, however, just disappointed. I wanted to come away with at least a point. We’ll get the points we need in the derby. We have to approach the match with focus.”
