Double training session with president Ferrero

Sampdoria stepped up their preparation for Sunday’s Derby della Lanterna with a double workout today.

In the morning Vincenzo Montella had the squad work in groups both in the gym and on the pitch with president Massimo Ferrero, Antonio Romei and sporting director Carlo Osti watching on, while in the afternoon the Blucerchiati trained on the top pitch.

Fernando Lucas Martins combined physiotherapy with work in the gym and the pool as he bids to return to full fitness in time for the derby.

Niklas Moisander and Carlos Carbonero continued with their respective recovery programmes.

The team will next train on Thursday afternoon.
