Obiang: “I’ll always be a Sampdoria fan”
Two years after leaving Sampdoria to join West Ham, Pedro Obiang has declared his love for the Blucerchiati in an exclusive interview with Samp TV.
The midfielder joined Samp from Atletico Madrid as a boy of 16, matured in Genoa – in every sense – and left as a young man seven years later to realise his dream of playing in the Premier League.
Now back in Liguria working on his rehabilitation following an ankle injury suffered in March, the 25-year-old had the following to say to Samp TV:
“Sampdoria were like a family to me and still are. When I went back to Marassi they welcomed me as if I’d never left.
“We may have gone our separate ways but I’ll always be a Samp fan.”
